MUSA SYEED was born and raised in Indiana. His feature films as writer/director include VALLEY OF SAINTS (Sundance Audience Award Winner) and A STRAY (SXSW Official Selection). He was also a co-writer on the Sundance selection MENASHE, which was distributed by A24. All three features were New York Times Critics Picks.
His short films include the Sundance selections THE DISPOSSESSED and THE BIG HOUSE, as well as the documentaries BRONX PRINCESS (Berlinale), and A SON’S SACRIFICE (Best Short Doc, Tribeca). He was also the Creative Director of the public media program Muslim Youth Voices.
