2025 Transactions of the Samuel Johnson Society (Lichfield) Available for Purchase
Thomas Leonard-Roy, PhD '22 and editor of Transactions, announced that "The 2025 Transactions of the Samuel Johnson Society (Lichfield) has been printed and posted to our members. It is available for purchase on the Society website, where you will also find the complete digitized archive of Transactions, going back to 1948–9.
The 2025 issue features a rousing Presidential Address by Tristram Hunt, 'Johnson, Wedgwood and the Miracle of the Midlands'; a moving new 'Encounters with Johnson' essay by Helen Deutsch; an essay on Johnson and solitude by the historian Barbara Taylor; and much more, including original contributions by Alex Creighton, PhD '21, (on Rasselas) and Emma Stanbridge (on Anna Seward's letters in the Birthplace Museum)."
