MLA's Matei Calinescu Prize Awarded to Glenda Carpio for Migrant Aesthetics
The Modern Language Association of American announced its ninth annual Meti Calinescu Prize for a distinguished work of scholarship in twentieth or twenty-first century literature and thought. The selection committee chose two prize recipients. Glenda Carpio, Professor of English and of African and African American studies at Harvard University, received the award for Migrant Aesthetics:Contemporary Fiction, Global Migration, and the Limits of Empathy. Marijeta Bozovic, professor of Slavic languages and literatures at Yale University, received the award for Avant-Garde Post—Radical Poetics after the Soviet Union.
