Please join the Harvard University Department of English and Vidyan Ravinthiran for a Manuscript Workshop titled, "Spontaneity and Form in Modern Prose."
This event will take the form of a lecture followed by a Q&A.
Vidyan’s book contains chapters on William Hazlitt; Ralph Waldo Emerson and Walt Whitman; Gerard Manley Hopkins; Herman Melville; D.H. Lawrence; Virginia Woolf and Marion Milner; Saul Bellow; and the Indian journalist Adil Jussawalla. He uses the post-Romantic concept of “spontaneity” as a route into the prose styles of these authors.

This event is open to the Harvard community.
