English CPC. The Poems of Our Climate

Instructor: Jorie Graham
Tuesday, 6:00-8:45pm | Location: TBD
Enrollment: Limited to 12 students

A workshop reading and writing poetry which explores, formally and thematically, the many aspects of what is meant by “environmental” in art. How might we address, in poetry and poetics, the consciousness of other species, the sensation & reality of scarcity, what the imagination of extinction entails—as well as wrestling with the many consequences of climate upheaval (systemic injustice, global poverty, mass migration, homelessness, placelessness, the suffering of creatures, the suffering of the earth). The class will be limited to 12.
