English Concentrator Named a 2016 Rhodes Scholar - 12. 7. 15

The Department of English extends its congratulations to English concentrator Yen Pham, who was awarded a 2016 Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford University next year.

Pham is set to graduate at the end of this semester, and plans to study the contemporary literature of migration while at Oxford. According to a Harvard Crimson article, she became interested in studying the literature of migration after taking Professor Philip Fisher’s course, “The American Novel: Dreiser to the Present.”

Pham applied to the Rhodes program through her home country of Australia, where she was given one of the nine spots awarded.

Congratulations, Yen!
