LitLab: Practicing Anti-Racism

Date:

Friday, September 25, 2020, 12:30pm

The past several months have seen a nationwide renewal and recommitment to civil rights and racial justice. What is Anti-Racism, and how does one practice it? This week we will watch Raoul Peck’s 2016 film I Am Not Your Negro, which profiles the activism of African-American novelist and essayist James Baldwin, connecting his commitment to racial justice to the Black Lives Matter movement and beyond. How does art--literature, film, theater, visual representation--promote, advance, or facilitate the work of anti-racism?
