contributions of book collectors in building remarkable libraries.
|Leslie Morris of Houghton Library will offer an introduction, “Harry Widener and His Collection: A Brief History.”John Stauffer, Professor of English and of African American Studies, will deliver the talk “A Bibliophilic Friendship: Charles Sumner’s and George Livermore’s Contributions to Harvard Library.”Reception to follow at Widener Library with John Koh, Chairman of antiquarian booksellers Bernard Quaritch Ltd, who will display receipts from Harry’s final purchases.
