How do we tell stories for the stage and the screen? What is the difference between playwriting and screenwriting? What qualities do they share? This open enrollment course introduces students to fundamentals of dramatic writing, with a focus on character, plot, and dialogue across a variety of genres. With particular attention to playwriting, screenwriting, and writing for television, students will explore the tools and techniques needed to make exciting work and craft compelling narratives for the stage and screen.
