Joyce, *Dubliners* and *Ulysses*; Proust, *Swann's Way*; and *Within a Budding Grove*; Woolf, *Mrs. Dalloway* and *To the Lighthouse*; Kawabata, *Snow Country*. Writings of Pater, Simmel, T.S. Eliot, and sections from *The Pillow Book* of Sei Shonagon.
