The conclusion of this 18 month long process, involving 40 faculty members, came down to this point; the role of the humanities “is to develop habits of mind,…develop a sense of how to reason rigorously, how to express ideas in a compelling way, and how to write well. And then to have at your disposal the categories through which to approach complex problems.
