Professor Werner Sollors presents his forthcoming book, The Temptation of Despair: Tales of the 1940s (2014) on Wednesday, April 16th at 6pm. Responses will be given by Professors Janet Halley and Henry Rosovsky.
Prof. Sollors, who is the Henry B. and Anne M. Cabot Professor of English Literature and Professor of African and African American Studies, has taught at Harvard since 1983. Some of his other publications include Beyond Ethnicity: Consent and Descent in American Literature and Culture (1986), Neither Black nor White yet Both: Thematic Explorations of Interracial Literature (1997), and Ethnic Modernism (2008).
