Boylson Prize for Elocution: Final Round

Event Date: Tuesday, April 30
Event Time: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Join the English Department to witness the competition for one of Harvard’s oldest awards, the Boylston Prize for Elocution. This event has been staged every year since the fund was established in 1817.

Relax (or perhaps indulge your secret schadenfreude) as these brave students deliver 5-minute memorized selections of their favorite verse, prose, or speeches in English, Greek, or Latin.

As required in the original terms of the bequest, the competition will be judged by masters of oratory: a clergyman, a lawyer, and a professor.

The final round is open to the public.

Congratulations to our winners, Joshua Wilson ’13 and Margaret Kerr ’13!
